I didn’t choose to be alone, but there seems to be something beautiful about it. Free of attachments or complications. Free to breathe my own air. Free to find a companion in myself for the first time. I used to walk on airs, I used to be a people pleaser of sorts, but finding my independence has given me the strength to love myself again.
- T.S. Eliot, The Cocktail Party (via anamorphosis-and-isolate)
I have no friends anymore because I can’t handle the frivolous conversations about nothing of real weight. I refuse to become someone’s plus one, companion to ease the sting of being alone. I’m not that person anymore so don’t ask me to be your “friend” don’t ask me if I want to “hang out” honestly just don’t even try talking to me because I’m too exhausted to even entertain a friendly reply.
